Minimum separation
It is prohibited to drive without maintaining a separation from the vehicle in front equal to or greater than that indicated on the sign, except for overtaking. If the sign does not indicate in metres, it is a general reminder that the safety distance between vehicles established in article 54 must be maintained.

Maximum speed
Prohibition of driving at a speed higher than the speed indicated on the sign, in kilometres per hour. It is binding from the place where it is located until the next "End of speed limit", "End of prohibitions" or other "Maximum speed" sign, unless it is placed on the same post as a danger warning sign or on the same panel as the latter, in which case the prohibition ends when the danger indicated ends. Located on a non-priority road, it ceases to be in force when leaving an intersection with a priority road. If the limit indicated by the sign coincides with the maximum speed allowed for the type of road, it generally reminds of the prohibition of exceeding it.
