The signs in the «Orientation signs» group belong to the VII. Vertical traffic signs block of the Spanish DGT theory. It is an information sign: rectangular or square, usually with a blue background.

Orientation signs are subdivided into: pre-signaling signs, direction signs, road identification signs, location signs, confirmation signs, and signs for specific use in towns.
Pre-signaling signs shall be placed at an appropriate distance from the intersection for maximum effectiveness, both day and night, taking into account road and traffic conditions, especially the usual speed of vehicles and the distance at which the sign is visible. This distance may be reduced to approximately 50 meters in built-up areas but must be at least 500 meters on motorways and dual carriageways. These signs may be repeated. The distance between the sign and the intersection may be indicated by means of a complementary panel placed above the sign; this distance may also be indicated at the top of the sign itself. The nomenclature and meaning of pre-signaling signs are as follows:
S-201 Pre-signaling of a roundabout split from the main carriageway. It indicates the directions of the various exits from an intersection whose layout is similar to a roundabout, but the main carriageway, on which the vehicle is traveling in this case, remains continuous.
