  • The holder of a driving permit or license that has lost its validity in accordance with the provisions of article 47 of the Penal Code, having been sentenced by a final judgment to the penalty of deprivation of the right to drive motor vehicles and mopeds for a period exceeding two years, may obtain, once the sentence has been served, a driving permit or license of the same class and with the same seniority, in accordance with the procedure established in article 71.2 for the loss of validity of the authorization due to the total loss of the assigned points.

The permit obtained will have a balance of 8 points.

  • If the sentence is equal to or less than two years, to be able to drive again, the driver must only prove that he or she has successfully completed the road safety and awareness course referred to in the first paragraph of Article 71.2.
