📜 Reference legal text — Legislación consolidada. Article 65
- After two years have passed without having been definitively sanctioned administratively for committing infractions that entail the loss of points, the holder of a driving permit or license affected by the partial loss of points will recover the entire initial credit of twelve points.
- Holders of a driving licence or permit referred to in paragraphs a) and b) of section 2 of article 63, after a period of two years has elapsed without having been definitively sanctioned administratively for committing infractions that entail the loss of points, will now have a total of twelve points.
- Points will only be lost when the event resulting in the deduction of points occurs while driving a vehicle for which a driving permit or license is required.
- The holder of a driving permit or license who has lost part of the initial credit of points assigned may opt for its partial recovery, up to a maximum of six points, only once every two years, by completing and successfully passing a road safety awareness and re-education course, with the exception of professional drivers who may complete the aforementioned course annually.
In any case, the duration of the aforementioned courses will be a maximum of fifteen hours.
