Vehicles belonging to the police, firefighting, civil protection and rescue services, and public or private health care services, which circulate on urgent service and whose drivers warn of their presence by simultaneously using the light signal, referred to in Article 173, and the special acoustic signal emitting device, referred to in the regulations governing vehicles, shall be given priority status.
By way of exception to the provisions of the preceding paragraph, drivers of priority vehicles must use the light signal alone when the omission of the special acoustic signals does not entail any danger for other users.
