In addition to the provisions of the previous section, the separation that must be maintained by all drivers of vehicles travelling behind another vehicle without indicating their intention to overtake must be such that it allows the person following them to overtake them safely, except in the case of cyclists travelling in a group. Vehicles with a maximum authorised mass exceeding 3,500 kilograms and vehicles and combinations of vehicles with a total length of more than 10 metres must, for these purposes, maintain a minimum separation of 50 metres.
